Western Nebraska Road Trip - Day 4
Our fourth day was spent canoeing the Niobrara River outside of Valentine, Nebraska. We canoed on a Sunday so the river was not very crowded. Due to recent heavy rainfall the river was about 1.5 feet high and moving very swiftly. We barely had to paddle. We canoed down, enjoyed a picnic lunch, and stopped at Smith Falls State Park to check out Nebraska’s tallest waterfall.
The bridge where we finished. We parked here, got a shuttle to the start point, and canoed back to our car.
